Log's First hunt

This year Chad built a blind to put on the hunting property so Log might be able to go out and sit with him and maybe catch a glimpse of a deer.  He never thought the first time Log went out he would get to see his Papa shoot a deer!
Everyone I tell asks if he was scared or sad about the deer but he really wasn't. He has seen his Daddy bring home multiple deer every hunting season so to him it's not weird or scary or a big deal....just what is supposed to happen.  He tells me that Daddy has to shoot deer to "feed the family" and so "there aren't too many deer bothering everybody."
The biggest story he had for me when he came home was that he touched the deers eyeball....GROSS. No one can accuse the child of being anything less than all boy!!:)

Election Day!

Logan had lots of questions when I got home from voting. I tried to explain to him in words he would understand why it is so important for Americans to vote. He asked who I voted for and after I told him he says "uh Mom! You should vote for Captain America because he loves this country!!!"

Only Logan....

Halloween 2012

A Bug and her Daddy....

A Super Hero & his Mommy...

Log & Lyn had a great Halloween this year. It was chilly so we only took Lyn around to a few neighbors' we knew would want to see her all dressed up. After that Chad took Log around the neighborhood to get all the candy they could;) Aside from a run in with an escapee-dog from one house he had a great time and was hyped up on sugar for a good portion o the night....the kid can eat some skittles!!

We didn't have many trick or treaters which was a little sad! In Atlanta it seemed like we stayed by the door the whole night to keep up and this year we had lots of down time between groups.

Lyn LOVED passing out candy- and of course all of the trick or treaters loved getting their candy from a cute little lady bug!!

FOUR

This year we were in the Ozarks on Log's birthday so we headed to Captain Ron's for some pirate festivities! It was also close to Cousin Nolan's birthday so Log was excited to share the day!

Driving the 'Gyspy Rose' with Captain Jack Sparrow! Logan was extremely serious while driving because driving a pirate ship is not a joke!

Heading out to Sea! (A drive around the cove) there were two "pirates" and a "Captain" on the ship. They had a treasure map and told cute stories and pirate jokes. Logan was really into yelling "Scurvy Dog!!!" and "Argh!"

After the ship ride we docked and went onto land for a treasure hunt! Of course "X" marked the spot and the birthday boys got digging! The dug up a treasure chest with all kinds of pirates booty inside!

After all the excitement we came back to the restaurant for cake and presents. Log had an awesome time...I mean what four year old wouldn't love a pirate birthday?!

We found a baby pirate along the way....

Log also practiced driving a more practical boat....

The Big 0-1!!

Lyn you are a little peanut! At 19 lbs you are in the 40% in weight! I can't remember your length but you were in the 50th percentile there:)

You are standing alone and cruising all over the furniture....I am more than ok with you not walking yet. In fact I am little nervous for the day that you decide you'd like to be able to run around as fast as your brother...Lord help us!

Your favorite things are your snuggie (blanket) and paci! We try to keep them both in bed most of the time but you have been sad lately (molars are poking through!) so I have been pretty lax on that rule!

Miss Mae you loved all of your birthday present but you favorite is this little princess car from Nana Tami! You just think you are big stuff when you are walking around behind it!

You are definitely a water baby! Your brother loved the water at this age also but you just don't have any fear! Always putting your face in the water and crawling as deep as your little arms will let you!

Logan is definitely high on the list of favorite people but you have started to let brother know when you have had enough of his craziness in your area, haha! You love when he gives you kisses and it's probably the cutest thing i have ever seen!!

Daddy and I love watching out sweet little Miss Mae grow and know we are extremely lucky to have not one but TWO little Bradshaw Babies to love on:)

Then & Now

Log's first day of Pre-school:

And Log's last day of Pre-school:

How big did boy get over the course of one school year??! Log had to leave school about a month early because, oh yeah, we moved! Since he missed about a month we signed him up for a summer session of Pre-school which starts June 4th.

I asked Log what his favorite part of Pre-school this year was and he said, "the big glasses!!! And my friends and I love Miss Mikki!" Cutest boy ever! (his teachers name is actually Miss Nikki but Log has always pronounced it "Mikki" ha!)

Move for the Kids 5k

So I ran a 5K last weekend with some awesome ladies (see below!)

This race was extra special because it was in memory of my friend, Brooke's, baby girl Charlotte Victoria! Baby Charlotte lost her battle with Charge Syndrome in February and spent most of her time here on Earth @ the Children's Hospital in Chicago. This 5k raised money for the NEW Children's hospital! Raising 1,000 dollars would have put Charlotte's name on a plaque in the hospital but Brooke was able to raise FOUR THOUSAND!!! Talk about a Mama on a mission.

I think it's so awesome that Brooke does things like this to keep Charlotte's memory alive. Every time I see the color pink I think of that gorgeous little girl and her incredible journey.

I wasn't sure if I should make a post about this since it's not MY story to tell but decided to because of the HUGE impact Charlotte's journey had on our family. We never got to meet baby girl but through her story we drew closer to each other, to God and realized how truly blessed we are! I want to always be able to read back on our blog and remember the sweet girl that changed us forever!

Team Charlotte runners and one REALLY FAST walker! There were I think 5 more walkers not pictured!!

PS- Brooke and I both PR'd in the pouring rain! My official time was 25:09-- Miss Charlotte must have known we'd all be extra motivated to cross the finish line if we were cold and wet!

Today after playing in his room for a while Logan came down to the kitchen where I was making dinner and said to me, "I just ate a sticker!" (very proudly)
"What? Why?!" (more shocked than I should have been considering who I was talking to) "I was just a little curious." (very matter-of-factly)
....perfect example of why we lock up the bleach.

Children's Discovery

This weekend we had a playdate with Clayton @ The Children's Discovery Museum.... The boys played so well together and I didn't think they would ever leave the 2nd floor...the farming floor:) But to all of our surprise the boys loved the stage/painting area just as much!

While the boys played Lynley just did a lot of watching....and hanging out with the girls! Sister loves Aunt Taylor:)

After the museum we met up with Alisha @ Firehouse and had some pizza....I'd give the pizza a 9 and the service a 2.....but still fun!

Uptown Normal is so cute...we had fun just walking around and the boys LOVED picking out their own toppings @ the frozen yogurt shop.

Another bonus- on the way to the museum we saw Spider Man! He was making an appearance @ the comic shop so both of the boys got to see him from the car...Logan was surprised that Spider Man was in Bloomington...he said to me, "I didn't know Spider Man was in this city!" and Clayton wanted to know who was in Spider Man, haha...he was talking about Peter Parker:)

Easter

Log and Lyn had a great Easter this year. We made the trip to Mowequa to celebrate with Chad's grandparents.  We are still in between houses (April 13th, get here!) So it was nice to get out of the in-law's house and visit in the big hall where Easter was held.
Log had a great time running around with all of the kids during the Easter eggs hunt and was being a huge sweetie and sharing his eggs and candy with all of the other kids....even a girl that was a jerk to him the whole afternoon.

Lynley Mae: 9 Month addition

Our Sweet Lynny Girl is 9 months old!

Weight: 16 lbs 11 oz (30th percentile)
Length: 27.5 inches (45th percentile)

Right now Lynley is LOVING her new found ability to MOVE. I won't lie...I was starting to panic when it wasn't happening but one day she just decided to go...and has ever since been perfecting the art of bugging her brother by touching everything he is touching.....DUH his toys are the bomb.
Lyn has also been perfecting her cutest thing ever skills by practicing "SO BIG" (hands in the air) and "YAAAAY" (while clapping)
Still making me a very happy Mama by not fussing about the bows I have her wear every day:) I'm not sure if the girl would recognize herself int he mirror if she didn't have a huge poof standing on the top of her head.
For being such a peanut she sure does have some chubby cheeks!
I mean obviously the girl is sweet, just look @ her but words cannot describe how precious this baby is! Girlfriend has a smile for anyone she meets and is very rarely in a sour mood. She is definitely a Mama's Girl but has a soft spot for her Daddy! (I know because all she does is talk about "Dada" all day long. Hardly any "Mama" love.) She also ADORES her big brother. Anything Logy does is HILARIOUS and she is happiest when he is paying attention to her. I call the kiddos pretty much anything but the names we gave them and Logan has started to do the same thing with Lyn, making up the sweetest nick names for his baby sister on the regular. CUTE. I hope they always love each other as much as they do right now!

We would not change a thing about the girl and she really has completed our family. Adding just enough sweet to compliment all of Logan's silly!
